It began on the front-lines.

Riders4Rights is a New York City-based grassroots organization dedicated to building and amplifying power for the Black Liberation Movement. We are activists, organizers, and a community of Abolitionists who are joining together to dismantle local and global systems of oppression.

In the wake of the killing of George Floyd, we were all individually called to take to the streets demanding the end of the systemic abuse of power that disproportionately affects Black communities. We were bikers, marchers, suppliers, and medics. It began on the front-lines, inventing ways to block traffic and other threats while developing new ways to keep us safe. As we grew, so did our responsibilities to our Community, City and ourselves.

As a non hierarchal group of over 60 individuals, we work via consensus, and have pooled our interests and skills to work in this movement as best we can. We are parents, teachers, artists, essential workers, developers, students, comedians, actors, musicians, social workers, bankers, lawyers and neighbors. Our current focus is working with the community through mutual aid in BedStuy, Crown Heights, and Brownsville.
